The chances of the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA for the November 6 Anambra Governorship election, Professor Chukwuma Soludo to win the Anambra election, was on over the weekend buoyed by the endorsement of his candidacy by the Anambra State Disability Community.

The endorsement came at a Press conference on the 2021 Anambra Governorship election, by the APGA Campaign Directorate of the Disability Constituency in Awka.

Addressing newsmen at the briefing, the Special Adviser to Governor Willie Obiano on Disability Matters, Barr Chuks Ezewuzie who reeled out the qualifications of Prof Soludo, said they bear eloquent testimonies to his personality and what he can do for Anambra people.

Ezewuzie who is a US-based legal practitioner and the Director, APGA Campaigns for the Disability Community, pointed out that the APGA candidate has the connection competence, capability and creativity to take Anambra state beyond its dreams.

He highlighted the four pillars of Soludo’s development agenda, hinging on Economic transformation, Social agenda, Governance, rule of law and value and Environment, as a carefully thought-plan that speaks to the challenges faced by the state.

“Soludo’s four pillars will give us a grand slam economy for an industrialized, viable and virile state with fiscal responsibility.

“Who could have said it better than former President Olusegun Obasanjo, who adjudged Soludo as a man with the ability, exposure, understanding and without partisan interests,” he said.

According to Ezewuzie, the disability community believes Soludo is the best to succeed Obiano because of his clear vision for all segments of the society under his Social Agenda.

“Under his Social Agenda, taking care of the vulnerable is a yardstick for measuring the strength and impact of a strong economy on the populace.

“Contrary to the general perception of the society, the care of the vulnerable is not an economic black hole.

“It has become an economic well for the growth of GDP because health is wealth,” he opined.

The Anambra Disability Community leader noted that the present administration of Governor Obiano has accomplished landmark feats to the benefit of the community, saying they are also supporting Soludo because the governor believes in his abilities.

“When Governor Obiano invited me to come home, he stated that his vision was to transform the lives of persons with disabilities in the state, to be like those of their peers in the developed world and he has been doing that.

“The State Disability Rights Law he assented to in 2018, is in tandem with the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD) and patterned after the ‘Americans with Disability Act, (ADA).’

“Governor Obiano has presented Professor Soludo to us as the person with the capacity to continue and take this vision to the next level.

“The Disability Community encourages Anambra residents to choose and vote for Prof Soludo to succeed Governor Obiano,” he concluded.
