Ogbunike community drums support for Obiano's re-election bid

Stakeholders for Willie Obiano re-election in Ogbunike Community in Oyi Council Area over the weekend rose from its Townhall meeting to map out strategies for actualization of their mandate in the community.
The townhall meeting which was held at the Ogbunike townhall, was well-attended by key stakeholders in the community including top representatives of the community and the Council at the State and Local government levels, notable of whom were the member representing Oyi constituency in the State Assembly, Mrs Vivian Okadigbo,former NLC Chairman in the state, Chief Goddy Ibekwe who is from the community, representatives of pressure groups, members of the Igwe's cabinet, youths and women groups, who took turns to express their solidarity with the governor while stating key areas they are expecting government to intervene towards improving the lives of Ndi Ogbunike.

Addressing the assemblage, the Transition Chairman of Oyi Council Area, Chief Uchenna Okafor while reminding Ndi Ogbunike that it is by divine arrangement that their daughter is the first lady of the state, thanked them for voting for their support for APGA which he noted, has demonstrated their resolve to pursue the development of the community and Anambra State.
He pointed out that the community has benefited immensely from the present administration in terms of infrastructural development projects, political appointments, youths empowerment among others, adding that their is the need for the people to stand their ground and resist every attempt to instigate strife among them to thwart their common good.
The National Coordinator, Willie Obiano for Re-election 2017, Chief Kene Enefe explained that the group was formed to create an avenue for the propagation of government's interventionist programmes and policies as well as to ensure effective feedback from the people towards the promotion of good governance in the state.

The President General of the Community, Dr Nnamdi Nwadiogbu acknowledged that for the first time, the  community is receiving visible attention from the state government through the benevolence of Governor Obiano and his wife, Chief Mrs Ebelechukwu, noting that with what the present administration has done for them in just 3years, there is the hope that many more are still coming.
A former PDP stalwart and former Finance Commissioner in the State, Chief Emma Mbamalu observed that all that avails Ndi Ogbunike is to set aside party differences and work together for the return of Governor Obiano, stating that his outstanding performance in office is still a record to beat in the country.
The Convener of the meeting and Ogbunike Coordinator for Willie Obiano re-election 2017, Chief Samuel Obiakor explained that the meeting became necessary to make a strong point that the community is united in their support for Governor Obiano especially because of how he has shown them so much love and attention, in putting an end to the campaign of calumny going on in some quarters that the Obiano administration has reneged in its responsibility towards the community.
For a Special Assistant to the governor on Community Mobilization, Mr Samuel Odinye who is a native of the community, the clamour by Ndi Ogbunike for increased attention from government will be duly addressed, as Governor Obiano has proved to be a humane leader whose passion for impacting lives is incomparable.
Others who spoke at the event appreciated the governor's laudable achievements in the areas of agriculture, industrialization, investments promotion, infrastructure development, security among others, restating that Ogbunike is 100 percent APGA and will so remain.
