Ndi Ojoto gathered at Afor Town hall. |
The endorsement came during a stakeholders' meeting of Ojoto Akanasato Union, which is the town's highest decision making body, held at Afor Ojoto Townhall which also attracted notable sons and daughters of the community.
The people who during the meeting deliberated on issues bordering on the welfare and continued growth and development of the community, unanimously through a voice vote declared their unalloyed support for the Obiano administration in view of the numerous benefits it has availed their community
.
Speaking at the event, the President General of the Town, Engr. Edwin Umeghalu emphasized that despite the active role it plays in Anambra politics, Ojoto community has not gotten the deserved attention from successive administrations in the state, noting that it is with the present administration that they have been shown some sense of belonging.
Engr. Umeghalu pointed out that in comparison with his contemporaries across the country and in relation to the available resources at his disposal, Governor Willie Obiano has performed excellently in the state governance and as such, deserves a tenure extension to see his laudable programmes to logical conclusion.
The Igwe-elect of the community, Chief Dennis Okafor identified a major milestone of the obiano regime as the entrenchment of adequate security which in turn, has boosted economic activities as well as reclaimed the state's battered image before investors and said when the various investments that are opening shop in Anambra will commence full operation, the positive impact will be massive especially as it concerns job and wealth creation.
He assured people of Ojoto that their trust in Governor Obiano is not misplaced, as according to him, the governor has all it takes to steer the state to enviable heights considering his outstanding background in human and material resources management.
A Senior Special Assistant to the governor on Media, Mr Kingsley Ezekwelu who revealed that the present administration had developed numerous laudable programmes that has great prospects for the people in the areas of agriculture, industrialization, trade and commerce, oil and Gas among others, said the State cannot afford to slide back into the dark ages when insecurity and other vices held sway, to the detriment of her people.
According to him, for the first time, the State administration is coming up with a pragmatic blueprint that is already yielding results as is evident in the people's overwhelming endorsement for Governor Obiano and the many recognitions he is getting both locally and internationally from political watchers.
For an elder in the Community, Chief Dan Ilonze, it will be foolhardy for any Ojoto indigene to work against a government that has shown in visible terms that it has the interest of the community at heart, hence the need for the people to take the campaign to all nooks and crannies of the community to ensure landslide victory for APGA in the November 18th polls.
In a remark, the APGA Chairman of Idemili South, Chief Felix Obunadike harped on the need for the people to take full advantage of the ongoing voter registration exercise in the state to get their voters cards and equip themselves with the Power to sustain the transformation that the State is witnessing under the Obiano administration.
Solidarity chants for the governor by the people formed the highpoint of the event.
