Governor Willie Obiano has reiterated his resolve to avail Ndi Anambra visionary leadership devoid of all manner of sectional or religious bias.
The governor made this known when he received a delegation from the United Council of Sabbath Churches in Nigeria at the governor's Lodge Amawbia.
The visit also witnessed the pronouncement by the Council of their earlier decision to defy all odds to vote for Governor Obiano for a second term in office.
Addressing his guests, Governor Obiano who said it is his belief that Christians should embrace unity and brotherliness among themselves, reemphasized his earlier stance that he is not in the state to play sectional or denominational politics but to galvanise Ndi Anambra to join efforts in moving the State forward.
He commended the Sabbath community in the state for how they have peacefully carried out their religious obligations in the state, and urged them to continue to pray for his administration and for the progress of the state.
Earlier in his remarks, the Primate of the Council, Most Reverend Obiedelu said it is the decision of the Sabbath community to shelve their worship schedule which precludes them from participating in Saturday elections, to vote for Governor Obiano in the November 18th guber election in the state.
Most Reverend Obiedelu explained that the visit was to show their solidarity with the governor and to express their willingness to support him through their prayers and their votes to ensure that he returns come November this year.
For the spokesperson of the Council, Right Reverend Ifeanyi Okoye, their decision to support the governor is borne out of their desire to sustain the laudable achievements that cuts across all sectors of the State economy.
The meeting was also attended by the facilitator and State Head of Service, Bar Harry Udu, an APGA stalwart, Chief Godson Ezenagu among others.
