5 Projects inaugurated at 302 Artillery Regiment, Nigerian Army, Onitsha




Five major projects recently completed at the Onitsha Military Cantonment have been commissioned.
Among the projects inaugurated were Palm Garden, Arm Store, Lawn Tennis Court, Duty Room and a morgue. 

Speaking at the event, Anambra Governor, Willie Obiano said the Military has proved a viable partner with the State in its efforts to secure the lives and property of the citizenry, noting that his administration had engaged the services of Army Engineers in the execution of road infrastructural projects in the State. 
He expressed the hope that the projects will help in no mean measure to improve the lives of Men and Officers of the cantonment, adding that with the sacrifice they make on daily basis to ensure that the people are secure,  nothing is too much to give to them. 
The General Officer Commanding, 82 Army Division, Enugu, Major Adamu Abubakar described Governor Obiano as a humane leader who has been consistent in showing his commitment towards fighting crime in the state and said the Nigerian Army will reciprocate his gesture by remaining dedicated in their duty. 
In their separate remarks, the Commander, 302 Artillery Regiment, Colonel Isah Abdulahi and the Commanding Officer, 14th Field Engineering Regiment, Lt Colonel Abubakar Saleh explained that the projects were designed to improve the capacity of the soldiers and create facilities for recreation  for them.

Highpoint of the event was presentation of a plaque to Governor Obiano by the GOC 82 Division, Major General Abubakar in recognition of his immense contributions to the Nigerian Army as well as presentation of gift items to both serving and retired Army officers who have served the cantonment in the past.
