Anambra Disability Community Endorses APGA Candidate, Moves To Mobilize Support For Him

The chances of the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA for the November 6 Anambra Governorship election, Professor Chukwuma Soludo to win the Anambra election, was on over the weekend buoyed by the endorsement of his candidacy by the Anambra State Disability Community.


The endorsement came at a Press conference on the 2021 Anambra Governorship election, by the APGA Campaign Directorate of the Disability Constituency in Awka.

The Igweship tussle in Ojoto, Idemili South local government area, Anambra state has continued to take another dimension as one of the candidates, Chief Dennis Okafor calls on Gov Willie Obiano to take a cursory look at what is happening in the Panel he set up on Ojoto Igweship crisis.



Okafor, who was duly selected, ratified and installed  as Igwe Elect of Ojoto ,expressed dissatisfaction over irregularities he alleged, were perpetuated by the panel.


The Ojoto Igweship Crisis Panel of Enquiry was set up by Gov Willie Obiano to look into the crisis in Igweship matter in Ojoto   traditional institution.

Ojoto Akanasato Community endorses Governor Obiano's re-election bid

Ndi Ojoto gathered at Afor Town hall. 
The second term bid of Governor Willie Obiano over the weekend received a major boost as people of Ojoto community in Idemili South Council Area adopted him as their candidate in the upcoming guber election in the state.
The endorsement came during a stakeholders' meeting of Ojoto Akanasato Union, which is the town's highest decision making body, held at Afor Ojoto Townhall which also attracted notable sons and daughters of the community.

It was a ceremony that reflected an atmosphere of conviviality and brotherliness as people of Ojoto Akanasato community in Idemili South Council Area recently unveiled their new Igwe-elect, Chief Dennis Adindu Okafor.
The new traditional ruler was presented to the entire community by elders of Enugo village during a stakeholders meeting of Ojoto Akanasato Union, the town's highest decision -making body.

Anambra Governor swears in two new judges

Two new judges recently appointed to Anambra State High Court have been sworn in by Governor Willie Obiano.
The judges are Justice Ngozi Lauretta Oyeka who was a former Deputy Chief Registrar in charge of High Courts at the State Judiciary Headquarters and Justice Sylvester Nnanna Odili, a private legal practitioner at Onitsha.

Anambra Govt inaugurates State's Drug Control Committee


Governor Willie Obiano has inaugurated the State Drug Control Committee.
The 11 member committee comprises government officials from line Ministries and officers of the State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, and has as its Chairman, the Commissioner for Health, Dr Josephat Akabuike and the NDLEA State Commander, Mr Sule Momodu as its secretary.

Anambra opens largest Poultry Farm in the SouthEast Region


Anambra State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano has inaugurated the completed first phase of Lynden Farms at Igbariam in Anambra East Council Area of the state.
The Farm which is to produce high quality eggs and poultry meat, whose groundbreaking ceremony was performed by Governor Obiano in January last year, is to be executed in three phases with a total investment put at 180 million dollars.

International Health NGO set to partner Anambra Govt to establish trauma centre



An International Non-governmental Health Organisation, Doctors Without Borders, recently expressed its readiness to partner Anambra Government to establish a Trauma Center in the State. 
The NGO's Project Coordinator for the State, Dr Geoffery Baas disclosed this when he led a delegation from the Organization on a courtesy visit on Governor Willie Obiano. 

2017 Anambra Guber Election: Former Governor decries massive decampment of politicians, tags it worrisome



The growing trend of decampment of some politicians and respected personalities in the State has been described as a worrisome trend with dire consequences for the nation's democracy and the integrity and dignity of Ndigbo. 
A former Governor of the State, Dr Chukwuemeka Ezeife stated this in Awka during a press conference with newsmen on political developments in the State and Nigeria.
