2017 African Cup of Nations (Update)

The 2017 Africa Cup of Nations tournament being hosted by Gabon commenced on the 14th of January and will last till the 5th of February.
 16 countries from the African continent will trade tackles in the 31st edition of the Africa Cup of Nations, organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

 North African country, Libya was the initial host for the tournament until CAF rescinded its hosting rights in August 2014 due to ongoing crises in the country and Gabon won the right after seven countries put in their interests in a second bidding.
 The champion will qualify for the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup in Russia.
 Three-time champions Nigeria did not qualify for the tournament after failing to qualify for the development 30th edition in 2016.
 The opening game of the tournament between host, Gabon and Guinea Bissau ended in a one all draw while Cameroun and Burkina Faso also played one all draw.
 All four teams are in Group A. Group B matches saw Senegal beat Tunisia 2 nil while the game between Algeria and Zimbabwe ended in a 2-2 draw.
