The Vice-President, SouthEast National Youth Council of Nigeria, Comrade Innocent Nduanya has distanced youths from the South East from the ongoing death campaign against President Muhammadu Buhari.
Comrade Nduanya made the statement during a meeting of SouthEast Stakeholders of National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN, held in Anambra State.
President Buhari who is away in London for vacation as revealed by the Presidency, has recently been in the media as dead, which the Presidency has come out to debunk as a rumour.
On the social media, many youths have lent their voices in wishing the President dead but the SouthEast Youths Leadership has come out to say it is not supporting the death campaign.
According to Comrade Nduanya, "it is the responsibility of all of us as Christians, to pray for its leaders and not wish them death and as Christians, we stand by the teachings of the Bible."
He said though there are outstanding issues that begs for urgent answers from the Federal Government especially as it affects the welfare of people of the region, wishing the President death is not the way out.
"We believe that we will continue to make our representations known at the appropriate level and we won't stop until they are duly attended, but wishing Mr President death? Count us out", he concluded.
