FC Ifeanyi Ubah fined over N9 million for match walk-out




The Nigerian League Management Company, LMC, has fined  FC IfeanyiUbah over Nine million naira for walking out on an ongoing match.

The Referee who officiated the match has also been suspended.
It was the NPFL Matchday 1 fixture between Kano Pillars and FC IfeanyiUbah, and everything seemed to be going on well until the referee allegedly disallowed a goal scored by FC Ifeanyi Ubah shortly before the close 0f the first half before blowing the whistle for the end of the half.
This triggered emotions by players and fans of the Anambra side which eventually led to them abandoning the match.
Following the incident, the League Management Company,LMC, has handed down fines and suspensions to those who played a part in what it described as a show of shame.
A total of nine million, one hundred and fifty thousand naira (9,150,000) was handed as fine to FC IfeanyiUbah, for staging a walk-out, an act according to the league management body, is capable of bringing the league to disrepute and causing serious security breach.
 Aside the fine, three points and three goals accruing from the match has been awarded to Kano Pillars.
