Governor Willie Obiano says with his government's active inclusion of youths in the state governance, the onus now lies on them to show their capacity to shape the future of Anambra state.

The meeting attracted Chairmen of the Council and other Voluntary Youth Organizations in the five states of the SouthEast and centered on the need for Anambra Youths to operate under a viable and lawful structure to be able to access Youths empowerment packages in the country.
Governor Obiano who was represented by his Special Adviser on Youths Empowerment and Mobilization, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim explained that his administration decided to fully engage youths in the state governance in recognition of their potential to contribute significantly towards nation building, adding that no more will they be seen as troublesome and as such, excluded from governance processes in the State.
Emphasizing that no meaningful development can take place in an atmosphere of strife and anarchy, Governor Obiano urged the youths to eschew violence and be ready to key into the interventionist programmes of his administration to be self reliant.
Also speaking, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Youths Empowerment, Comrade Tony Uche-Ezekwelu while noting that the time has come for Anambra Youths to take control of their own affairs, assured that the present administration is committed to the enthronement of a lawful Youths Leadership in the State.
The National President of the Council, Comrade Murtala Garba represented by the National Deputy President, Mr Nnamdi Ezemagu commended the initiative of the SouthEast leadership to intervene in the Anambra Youths Leadership question and said it is in line with the Council's efforts to unite all youths in the country for improved impact.
In a welcome address, the South East Vice President of the Council and Special Assistant to the governor on Students Matters, Comrade Innocent Nduanya who bemoaned the numerous government's youth empowerment packages that have eluded Anambra youths due to the absence of NYCN leadership in the State, said it is expected that the meeting will set in motion, the process that will midwife the emergence of a lawful leadership of the Council in the State.
In their separate remarks, the Special Assistant to the governor on Pharmaceutical Matters, Mr Chibuzor Okar and the Imo State Chairman of the Council, Comrade Justin Okoro, said the Anambra example in youth mobilization has proved a viable model for other states in the zone to emulate and applauded Governor Obiano for his vision to improve the condition of youths in the state.
The South East Council comprises over 50 million youths in the country sparsed across the five SouthEast States and other states of the Country.
